The Hargraves have grown their family by one and needed to update family portraits. We had a lovely cloudy day to work with…and the kids were very patient with us and all the hassle of portraits.

The Bauers were so excited to show off the new park–Bee Caves—by their home. It has some great playscapes, nice pavilions, and wonderful hike/bike trails. If you are in this area of town, it’s great for an impromptu family gathering.

We’ve made pretty heavy use of Mayfield Park this year and for good reason: the place is gorgeous. So, it was a ton of fun to share this special spot with the Moskal family. They’d never been there and we had loads of fun in the various spaces and even played a fun photo game of “Where’s Waldo?”

One of our favorite picturesque locations in all of Austin is St. Edward’s University.[1] The grounds are immaculate and the staff is as friendly as can be. All they ask for portraits is a call ahead to make sure they don’t have a major event. So, that is where we met the Norman family.

“It has to be said”[2] they followed our “rules” as closely as possible. Everyone arrived in either jeans or khaki pants wearing a pastel colored long sleeve top. Given the weather in central Texas in the late Spring, this was no easy feat. However, everyone—regardless of age—was a trooper. And, aren’t they more attractive for it?

[1] We learned of the beautiful campus from our volunteer efforts with Knowbility.org and their Access U program held annually at St. Ed’s.
[2] “It has to be said,” is a catch phrase of the Fantoo Girls, of which we are dear fans.

For their wedding anniversary, the Butler’s wanted updated family portraits with both their kids and both sets of their parents.

We met at one of our favorite portrait locations: Mayfield Park. While the peacocks can get loud at times, they are beautiful and you run about a 50% chance of getting to see one fan his feathers.

Jennifer & Jessee, Thank you so much for letting us be part of this special day with you all. Use your password to access the full gallery online.

What a treat to photograph three generations of Russells in their backyard with a view of the lake. We were a bit challenged by the weather, but we all made the best of it and had fun, too! Besides, all those clouds made for some very soft light for the session.

Melynda bought a Groupon from us back in January. When she asked if she could save it for a maternity/family session, I told her about our Womb-to-Bloom package and let her use the Groupon toward that. It’s a win-win!

Their daughter and son-to-be both have E names, so that makes us smile!

Melynda, this was great fun for us! You can use your password to see your whole gallery online. We can’t wait for the newborn session!

We met Haley and her son at the Roaring Fork (the north location). The grounds of the restaurant and the neighboring business park made for a great setting for a fun sunset portrait session.

What a great year for bluebonnets! (Reminds me of the 2001 season. I remember because that was the the year we got married. Our wedding flowers were long-stem yellow roses and long-stem bluebonnets.)

The Coffey family wanted some portraits to mimic ones of Michelle’s parents in the early years of their marriage. Of course, they had to include the baby of the family, too!

Mike & Michelle, thank you for a lovely session. You can use your password to view all the images in your gallery.

We can’t wait to do the final retouching the images you select. The colors are so much fun!

We spent a lovely part of a gorgeous spring afternoon with the Calhoun family…all seven of them!

They wanted some real candids and very little formal or posed shots. So, we just wandered around the Arboretum and played. So. Much. FUN!

…and don’t you just love their color-coordinated outfits?

“Lori did family portraits for me back in 2004. We decided that we wanted an outside setting at Texas A&M University. Lori helped us find the perfect spot and made the afternoon a lot of fun. She was wonderful with my kids – very patient and attentive. The results were fabulous portraits! We’ve since moved away from Texas and have had other portraits taken – they don’t even begin to compare to the ones Lori did for us. The pictures she took are still the ones hanging on my wall and I’m positive they will be there forever – I simply love them! I would eagerly recommend Lori’s photography work to anyone who will listen.
Top qualities: Great Results, Good Value, Creative
